Yes this means he’s the one inviting all the speakers! Also one of my 
favorites is returning Juan Enriquez who speaks about regenerative medicine. His talks are always at the top of my list. Educators and Healthcare are the main themes this year with focus on kids. This should be no surprise as this has been his focus for years As Bill Gates has had numerous testimonies in front of Congress, who kind of seem to be the “non participants” in the world of technology and Health IT. 
Bill Gates spoke at Berkeley last year on philanthropy and his thoughts on health and education and one point he drive home were the folks that are the “hybrids” today having real value, in other words those with more than just one focus and layer of knowledge.

As a matter of fact I agree with Juan Enriquez on what he said about coding for cures as if you look at our fractured and expensive medical record system we have today, there’s just one big glut and not enough collaboration so perhaps by reducing the number a bit we might see some collaboration that everyone talks about but few do. I was excited to get the chance to serve as a guest “curator” at TED for this year’s annual conference in California in March. In TED parlance, that means I’ll be the person inviting and hosting the speakers for one session.
Harvard scientist Juan Enriquez is also being invited to lead a session. TED has a reputation – well deserved – for bringing together really interesting and provocative speakers. So, to get the chance to put together a session was a great opportunity. When Chris Anderson suggested it, I was happy to accept.
