Yes I have brought this up to hospitals too...CRM works for other industries...hospitals have the same administrative functions as other businesses..accounting, accounts receivable, payable, human resources, etc. so why wouldn't it work.  Cedars-Sinai has done a good job here in the Los Angeles area with CRM...and one of the most valuable CRM software programs comes from Microsoft...why?  It integrates with MS Office products you are probably already using...and works with wireless software..Windows Mobile..need help in financing...Microsoft Financing will help along those lines as well.  There are other CRM software solutions as well that also have some integration features, but MS Dynamics is by far on of the most robust systems on the market.  Your local electronics retailer, Best Buy uses MS Dynamics and has the capability of all customer and other related information at their fingertips.  After all, who doesn't want a dashboard that is easy to navigate with all the information you need presented in one simple format..something to think about and build on for the future...BD

Financial leaders who remain convinced that CRM holds no potential benefits for their hospitals or health systems would be well served to at least take a closer look at current practices. As consumerism and supply chain disruption continue to change healthcare's competitive landscape, hospital boards will ask increasingly tougher questions of their C-level leaders.

If those leaders are not willing to invest in CRM, they may find themselves being asked to explain to their boards why not -- when other hospitals are seen to be clearly reaping its rewards.

As a consequence, low funding has defused CRM programs' potential firepower as their focus has often been relegated to simple tasks such as tracking customer inquiries in order to rationalize investments in advertising  campaigns. With a track record of unremarkable results, CRM has even come to be viewed as a career risk for those intent on pushing its applications.

There are at least four good reasons for hospital financial leaders to put aside their previous conceptions and take a fresh look at the potential benefits of CRM.

  1. Hospitals should seriously consider implementing CRM so that activities at the front end get smoothened and kinks at the back-end can be removed. The benefits accrued can be passed on to the patients. CRM for medical institutions can seriously benefit them in what is becoming an increasingly competitive sector.

A good site here for looking up the right CRM provider for your medical institution.
