BANGALORE (Reuters) Nov 29 - Barr Pharmaceuticals Inc said it received final approval from U.S. health regulators to market a generic version of Forest Laboratories Inc's painkiller, Combunox tablets 5mg/400mg. Barr plans to launch its product immediately.

November 30, 2007 The US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has approved first-time generic formulations for oxcarbazepine tablets in 150-, 300-, and 600-mg strengths for the treatment of partial seizures; hydrocodone bitartrate and ibuprofen tablets in a 2.5-mg/200-mg strength for the short-term management of acute pain; and rivastigmine tartrate capsules in 1.5-, 3-, 4.5-, and 6-mg (base) strengths for the treatment of mild to moderate dementia associated with Alzheimer's or Parkinson's disease.
