City police are investigating a former employee at Mercy Medical Center. He's accused of stealing personal information and using it to apply for credit cards and loans.
Going to the hospital is often painful enough. Learning personal information may have been stolen by an employee makes patients at Mercy Medical Center sick.
"A patient is a vulnerable person no matter what. They're sick, they're trusting, and they're vulnerable. And employees can use that to their disadvantage," said Sandra White, a patient at Mercy.
