For anyone in R and D needing resequencing services for analysis relative to genomic disease research, applications are being accepted for the grants, using the single molecule analysis technology provided by Helicos. BD
NEW YORK (GenomeWeb News) Expression Analysis said today that it has launched a program that will award resequencing and analysis services to researchers or institutions conducting GWAS studies. The Genome Wide Association Study Data Analysis and Resequencing Grant will include resequencing of genes or regions of interest up to 10 gigabases using Helicos BioSciences True Single Molecule Sequencing technology. Expression Analysis installed the Helicos system in March.
Durham, NC-based Expression Analysis said that the grant program is looking for projects that “show promise of identifying genetic element(s) that are important to human health and disease. There must be a strong case that the trait has a genetic basis and important health consequences,” the firm added in a statement.
