We all know Microsoft is the king of code and they do a lot of stuff right but right now are losing a bit of ground in the mobility area with consumers and thus the shake up and changing around.  Sometimes new ideas are a good thing along with imagenew folks to follow through.  The big item here though is that the article from Bloomberg states he wants more than just sales for figure head folks in those jobs which I certainly applaud. There’s nothing like hands on folks especially when it comes to technology.  Shoot it saves time too without having to do extensive reports to explain things to a figure head person.  I can easily attest to that.  Role models are important today and we certainly don’t get enough as consumers with government role models at all, but rather seem to hear more of the paradigm of “its for those guys over there” and I’m talking consumer products here.

HHS National Plan to Improve Health Literacy – Not Going To Happen Until We Focus on Using Technology (The Tool for Literacy) Which Includes Role Models at HHS And Other Places in Government

I see this so much out there too with the “Magpies” that just repeat what they hear and have never stuck a toe in the water and thus they just repeat and we get the awkward paradigm that keeps surfacing of “it’s for those guys over there”.  If you read here often enough you have seen this mentioned before when I address the “non participants” we have in Congress that are lacking in some general consumer digital literacy.  You can’t help but notice that as it is in the OMG news all the time.   Bill Gates stated at Berkeley last year in his speech to students that those individuals who are “hybrids” are going to the ones to search out that have talent and expertise in more than one area.

How do judges make complete legal decisions without being active participants in consumer IT digital literacy?  How can that work?

I would say if Microsoft themselves are making this realignment it might be something to give some thought in government as well.  Microsoft does have their employees “eat their own dog food” unlike what we have with government with not using the software and services they say are “good for us”.  The reality of all of this can be read at the link below as the formulas used for healthcare are beginning to resemble those on the market in more ways than one, so if you want to kind of understand what is happening the link below will do a little catch up for you.

Also I do have to quit picking on Joe Biden in the area of technology because he has stepped out and is being an example with using his Ipad and you can read up on what he does with it, to include carrying his speeches on it ,etc. so old dogs can learn new tricks too, if they want to get educated.   BD

Microsoft Corp. Chief Executive Officer Steve Ballmer plans to extend a management shake-up aimed at adding senior product executives with an engineering background, two people with knowledge of the decision said.

Changes may be announced this month, said one of the people, who declined to be named because the plans are private. Last month, Ballmer pushed out server division president and 23- year company veteran Bob Muglia, saying the company needed new leadership that could focus on areas such as cloud software.

Ballmer has already shown a desire to appoint engineers or product experts to run divisions. Stephen Elop, who left to run Nokia Oyj in September, was replaced by engineering chief Kurt DelBene, rather than marketing executive Chris Capossela. Elop had run Microsoft’s business unit, its biggest source of sales.
