Patients are giving the Kaiser Health Connect online services a thumbs up...BD

An online program is making it easier for Kaiser Permanente patients to take control of their health care while staying in contact with their physicians, and other health systems are taking note.

The KP HealthConnect online service allows patients to manage their health care electronically, including scheduling appointments, refilling prescriptions, viewing lab results and e-mailing doctors through a secure program called My Health Manager found on the health care system's main Web page, kp.org.

The program has steadily grown since it was launched in 2005. It's estimated that more than 1.6 million members have signed up to use it
