As technology moves on and EHR vendors are working to stay current with the market place, there is a lot of work in progress with new and upcoming versions that may not have been able to meet the current cut off date, as software in the ambulatory records side of the business is evolving every day...thus many vendors may have several versions available for purchase and perhaps even some beta software that is under current development...so when checking for certification, be sure to identify the product and perhaps even the version number that has been through the process....to date 29 products have passed the 2007 criteria...BD
The Certification Commission for Healthcare Information Technology in recent weeks has certified several ambulatory electronic health records software products under its 2007 criteria.
Certification of a vendor’s product does not mean all EHRs from that vendor meet CCHIT criteria. The commission certifies specific versions of specific products.
