Well there's probably plenty of that going around my office:) This was a study comparing Asian countries, the US and the UK. All seem to have the same issues...no surprise there. Asian countries are using the Internet to learn to how speak English as well. The UK has not figured out exactly how it relates yet to their society. Withdrawal has the same problems as other additions to no surprise, isolation, anger, fatigue...so what do we do about it? That's the big question. Dr. Block states he owns a patent on technology to restrict computer access and maybe that's the answer...who knows...so let me visit my physician and have him see if we can pull up the answers on the Internet...BD
"Dr Block suggests that these subtypes share four common characteristics: excessive use, withdrawal, tolerance and negative repercussions."
Internet addiction is a "clinical disorder", says The Daily Telegraph. The newspaper quotes a leading psychiatrist who suggests that "obsessive Internet use is a public health problem, which is so serious it should be officially recognized as a clinical disorder".
