FDA says OK for Becton, Dickinson test for C Diff

It is already used for detection of MRSA currently. 

The Food and Drug Administration allowed BD Diagnostics to market the BD GeneOhm Cdiff molecular test for "rapid detection" of the toxin, the company said in a statement. The statement said the test should improve patient care by giving labs the choice of a single test that may eliminate the need for multiple screenings and tests.

That could speed up reporting and avoid unnecessary antibiotic use.
