This is an unusual guest for the Today Show and Jon Stewart…

“Harold Varmus, former Director of the National Institutes of Health and co-recipient of a Nobel Prize for studies of the genetic basis of cancer, has served as the President and Chief Executive Officer of Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center in New York City since January 2000.”

He states that maybe now that Wall Street is down, perhaps we can cure and get some better scientific researchers and talks about curing cancer and how we need cures not one cure.  He just wrote a book and Jon said he’s going to be curling up by the fire with it (grin).  Funny he asks Mr. Varmus how important it is to included political expertise with being a scientist today…
