A good start; however we could use this throughout health care with compatible IT standards...BD
The American Health Information Management Association's Foundation of Research and Education has initiated a project to create standards for using electronic health records and other health IT in nursing homes, Healthcare IT News reports.
The project aims to let post-acute and long-term care vendors and providers develop and adopt EHRs and other health IT tools that will be compatible with the proposed nationwide health information network (Monegain, Healthcare IT News, 1/4).AHIMA will work to establish six principal deliverables addressing the goals outlined in a request for proposals issued by HHS' assistant secretary for planning and evaluation.
