The Minister of Health says China aims to further reform healthcare, to ensure that no one in the country will go without basic medical services.
The ministry is set to release plans for reform, in order to seek public opinion. Another concern is to expand the new rural cooperative medical system to cover the entire countryside before the end of the year. Funds should be raised over time, with basic medical insurance due to be extended to all workers in cities by the end of 2010.
