So far it appears to be completely PPO and has not graduated to HMO for pets...nothing mentioned in the article though about pre-existing conditions....and could this end up being an employee benefit in time with HR department working to make this a payroll deduction...BD
The other factor driving the industry's growth, Hinton said, is the increased accessibility of pet insurance. The coverage traditionally was sold only in veterinary offices. Now, it's available for purchase online, through pet adoption agencies, through payroll deductions and even in some grocery stores.
"You now have HR directors seeking out PetFirst to provide this insurance on a payroll-deduction basis," said A. Brent Hinton, PetFirst's cofounder and chief executive officer.
