People who have taken the herbal formula Airborne with the hope of curing or fending off the common cold are eligible for refunds from the company.

Airborne will pay $23.3. million to settle a class action lawsuit over false advertising. Legal battles beginning in 2006 called into question the product's claims as a "miracle cold buster."

A final hearing on the settlement is set for June 16, 2008. Consumers have until Sept. 15, 2008 to submit a claim. Are you seeking a refund for your purchase of Airborne? Click HERE or call 1-888-952-9080 for further information.

ABC News: Airborne to Refund Consumers

  1. How come something with no side effects gets blasted all over the media? Would you prefer a mandatory flu shot for a child?

The only thing that cures a cold is the body itself. I would rather take something that, in the worst case, does nothing rather than something that causes liver and kidney damage and suppresses the immune system.

Did they say "cure" or "prevent".

  2. WOW. How come something with no side effects gets blaster all over the media? Let's think about this one. Let's say I claim to have a cure for cancer and put my "miracle cure" on the market for $500, and subsequently rake in millions. After all, who wouldn't pay $500 to save their life? Yet unbeknownst to the consumer, my "miracle cure" is nothing more than some peanut butter contained in a pill. If you just shelled out $500 for peanut butter in a pill thinking it was a cure for cancer would you be upset?

Thus the reason airborne is "blasted all over the media". False Advertising.
