MARTINSBURG WV March 9 2008 — A victim of a purse snatching incident filed suit against Wal-Mart and the Martinsburg Mall last week, alleging the companies failed to provide adequate security in the parking lot where she was victimized.

According to court records, Snow initially refused medical treatment when a Martinsburg City Police officer offered to call her an ambulance, though she later did seek medical attention at City Hospital after experiencing pain in her chest and neck.The suit also states that earlier that same day, another woman was victimized in about the same location of the Wal-Mart parking area.
The suit also alleges Snow suffers from post-traumatic stress disorder, for which she is receiving psychiatric counseling, as a result of the incident, and her 11-year-old son continues to experience emotional and behavioral problems as a result of of the incident. The suit seeks monetary damages for pain and suffering, the “loss of enjoyment of life,” any permanent impairment or future medical expenses and monetary damages for Snow’s three children.
