After having spent many years in the transportation business, this story is somewhat fascinating...there are containers for moving produce that already include refrigeration units, so to cool the centers I might guess one of those units might fit the bill easily, but the one big issue at hand is the cranes that move and handle these units...what happens when they are dropped...and yes that does happen here and there...like anything else, unless the units are set up with equipment after the delivery...need a data center...just order one up on the cargo ship....these could appear to be located anywhere...outside a hospital for a simple example...BD
The whole datacenter topic is one I expect to find myself talking about more and more over the next year. A whole new game is emerging that some call Cloud Computing. One way of building these datacenters is through the use of containers and Michael Manos from our Data Center Services group talked about this yesterday at the AFCOM Data Center World conference. (Wow, there is a world conference for datacenters).
