In celebration of the award today hundreds are on strike.  The hospital ranked #30 of the 50 listed.  The workers on strike are mostly cafeteria services and other service type jobs and is part of the overall strike called by the University of California workers that is also affecting other facilities as well in the State.   Around 500 to 1000 strikers at UCI.  A judge had ordered a retraining order against the strike, but it appears it had no effect. 

This was just coincidental that both events occurred around the same time with pressing issues with the union over compensation issues.  image Picture from the Orange County Register.  Even the best facilities are complaining that current pay and compensation for workers is not up to par with inflation.  BD
