IBM Watson Did Get a Chance to Go To Congress-Should be a Permanent Home For Greater Intelligence for Creating Laws

This is funny as 2 weeks ago I made a post about Congress being a needier group for IBM Watson’s talent, more so than healthcare right now and it turns out it did get to visit, but I think it should should reside there permanently. Again, Watson is not connected to the internet as I understand from what I have read, but imagine if one did connect it!

Where Should Watson Go Next-The House and Senate For Some Needed Additional Intelligence for Data Mining and Searches

One Representative, a New Jersey Democrat was able to beat the machine, but he’s also a nuclear physicist, so we had some real intelligence going here and I’m guessing it became very technical on the questions asked. There were only 4 Congressman that participated to go up against Watson.

Can you imagine how much more intelligent this could make our lawmakers and provide some instant answers and search results? I think it’s a good deal, especially when they begin talking healthcare laws and reform as it might help keep things on track just as long as Watson doesn’t develop any bad habits as it learns too so no learning how to conducted a filibuster <grin>.

Again with having staff members who understand analytics and the algorithmic processes used today, this could be a real game changer and hopefully for the better. I would hate to see big business on Wall Street get a hold of this first and further hurt the SEC in their business of regulation, as that’s what would be the future if that occurs. Everyone would be taking knives to gun battles then and nobody would stand a chance with the extreme algorithmic processes. BD

Heckled by the crowd with shouts of “Go humanity,” the artificial intelligence powerhouse beat Reps. Bill Cassidy (R., La.), Jared Polis (D., Colo.), Jim Himes (D., Conn.) and Nan Hayworth (R., N.Y.). Watson is a computer system that can answer questions framed in natural language.

Mr. Himes, gracious in defeat, kissed Watson’s virtual LCD face as he departed the stage.
