This is the feed reader and blog posting tool of my choice and the resource I have chosen this image week to feature.  I also use Windows Live Writer to post which incorporates with Attensa.  Why do I like Attensa? It integrates with Outlook for one.  Email is the first stop for all of use when image checking our daily information and correspondence, thus if a imagesoftware company can integrate with Outlook, it's right up at the top in my book.  On the right hand side of the blog, there is a link to download and bring RSS feeds in to Outlook.   Outlook 2007 has a standard feed folder, but Attensa offers much more and is highly configurable.  I have it set to allow more power to Outlook, thus Attensa runs in the background at a lower resource consumption speed.  image

If you are in a corporate environment, there is a Server than can be set up and run through the network.  Several Fortune 500 companies use Attensa, such as Pfizer, Fedex, HP, Oracle, WalMart, imageFujitsu, Nokia, Siemens, to name a few.  For an individual user, the Outlook integrated software is free.  I have used Attensa now for about 2 years and it even updates automatically when software updates are available.  The software will also integrate with Internet Explorer and Firefox, so you  end up with one simple orange button to find feeds and locate on any page, and easily subscribe.  Even for the novice user with feeds, this sure makes it a lot easier.

imageIf you want the feeds in a reader format, you can have that too with the River of News, so there are many options.   image

In Outlook Attensa sets up a separate set of folders or pst files, so there is no interference with your current email folders.  New and updated feeds show in bold, so it's easy to see when news is updated without ever leaving Outlook.  I highly recommend taking a look at Attensa for either personal use at home and on a business network, the Server application.  From an IT/IS standpoint this can help leverage the RSS feeds and get the needed information to employees as needed, and it will be right in Outlook, the first stop of business for all of us.  BD
