The debate continues on whether or not the Internet can be regulated in Congress. From a healthcare standpoint, are we going to see new HIPAA regulations come out as a result and that is already one big can of worms. If you listen to the video, the Congressman is using his resources as they should be, with 2 separate worlds, one for himself personally and one for his work in Congress. He’s taking on the ownership of being responsible.
One thing to keep in mind, whatever you put on the web will be there, seen by others, and once it’s there, it’s too late to retract, so it makes everyone more aware of personal responsibility on how we will and do conduct ourselves. Transparency on the move. Below is an interview and a copy of the letter on the subject. I can certainly understand having an “Official” channel, but the other side of the coin for use with devices and services that are paid for personally, leave one big gap to figure out.
As proposed now the Congressman could not post here without approval of a “franking” committee. You can even use Twitter today to track your packages with Fedex and UPS too, track your mail order scripts this way.
Overall I think the new sense of transparency will really make everyone think about personal responsibility, after all it’s one big audit trail that out there now, so if you mess up, the whole world will watch! Again, HIPAA, well time to re-write the book as it is already out of date as there’s no provisioning for Twitter. Use the link at the bottom of the page for the source for this post to keep updated. The creeping lunacy in Washington continues…….John Culberson (R-TX) and Tim Ryan (D-OH), are under fire for the use of social media tools such as Twitter and Qik. They are not specifically named in this document, but it is widely understood that these two congressmen, one a Democrat and one a Republican, are actively circumventing traditional bureaucratic communication lines and talking directly to the American people.
