I would say genomics and personalized medicine is a very hot topic and developing fast, based on 4 machines being ordered from Singapore. Just this week Stanford university ordered their single sequencing machines from Helicos. NEW YORK (GenomeWeb News) – Illumina said today that the Genome Institute of Singapore has added four of the company’s genetic sequencers to its sequencing tool shed, tripling its stock to a total of six.
GIS plans to use the new sequencing power for a variety of research projects including the study of transcriptional networks that may be linked to cancer and stem cells.
