I had some questions the other day about tablets and thought a re-post was perhaps in order.  Yes, I use a tablet as I don’t want to walk around with an “open pizza box” notebook.  It goes to meetings, takes notes, does my dictation and has a nice little stand where I can prop it up and put a usb keyboard in place, and in coffee shops, no need to find a table to set the unit down.  My desktop is an IMAC running boot camp with Vista and both units run virtuals too. For meetings and working in the field the tablet always goes with me and at this point I would really consider it an inconvenience if I had to start flipping a lid on a notebook all the time.  The Tablet works real good with Skype and Speech recognition too, with no headset required.  If you have any questions, send them on; most medical records program work pretty flawless too and nice to have both a touch screen and digitizer to choose from.  There is also an entire section here devoted to tablets and how to use One Note and many other software features on a tablet. Sahara Tablet - used on CSI - NY Television Show

The Sahara has been getting quite a bit of play lately on the weekly television show.  Most members of the crime crew have been seen with the tablet at one time or another during the show.   What is really impressive too is seeing the use of the touch controls as well as the stylus.  This is really a great show on how useful touch screen tablets can be when information is needed on the go...good show of mobility and the tablets.  I believe I have even seen it floating around the morgue.

During one episode we also caught a glimpse of the Microsoft Round Table camera and video conferencing unit, and it appeared the tablet was connected to the conference call as well.

  1. Hi, probably our entry may be off topic but anyways, I have been surfing around your blog and it looks very professional. It’s obvious you know your topic and you appear fervent about it. I’m developing a fresh blog plus I’m struggling to make it look good, as well as offer the best quality content. I have learned much at your web site and also I anticipate alot more articles and will be coming back soon. Thanks you.
