Some employees may be able to transfer to other hospitals in the system, but this location, part of the West Penn Health System will be handling outpatients only. BD
The 106-year-old hospital, part of the West Penn Allegheny Health System, plans to close its emergency room and stop admitting patients in August. The facility will still offer outpatient radiology, laboratory, dialysis and imaging services, and an urgent care center will replace the emergency room.
The hospital is in Bellevue, just west of the city.
