Corporate America does not want you as an employee to miss work over this so we have something new here to make that $30 flu shot even easier to get. It could also create a data trail to let employers know who has and who had not received a flu shot, the data mining side of all of this. I think it’s none of their business but we have all kinds of data games going on today and if they give you one you can decide for yourself or better yet, ask if this is traced. There’s always an angle with ether financial gain or some data to be at stake today as corporate America doesn’t hire cheap Algo Men to figure this stuff out. Everyone one has a card today and even Social Security has one too for those on disability which I covered back in 2008.

The press release says they have more plans for the card, so giving them out without data mining would be a good thing, but if mined to see who uses the cards and who does not might have some privacy issues you want to ask about. BD
NEW YORK & SAN ANTONIO--(EON: Enhanced Online News)--Citi today announced the launch of the Citi® Flu Care card, a new corporate healthcare payment solution from Citi’s Global Transaction Services. The Citi Flu Care card is an innovative payment service designed to help employers reduce employee healthcare spending by shifting the administration of flu shots from doctors’ offices or on-site clinics to more cost effective pharmacy locations. Based on industry research, it is the first flu shot card payment product that does not require prepayment, and restricts use to flu vaccinations at over 17,000 pharmacies and clinics nationwide including CVS/pharmacy, Rite Aid, Target, MinuteClinic, The Little Clinic and any of the Kroger Family of pharmacies.
“For nearly 14 years Citi has been pioneering corporate payment solutions for a wide array of payment needs, from payroll and incentives to benefits and rebates,” says Paul Simpson, Global Head of Treasury and Trade Solutions, Global Transaction Services, Citi. “Now, we’re revolutionizing how individuals get their flu shots, providing greater ease, flexibility and access. It’s incredibly exciting to think about the impact this could have on the health and productivity of individuals and our economy as a whole. We’re excited to think about the other applications this product will have in market.”
