These are actually pretty simple and easy units from Phreesia to set up and are wireless from a normal WiFi set up.  They have advanced quite a bit with more features since they were originally introduced and now it calculates co-payments.  Thisimage gives a little privacy for the patient as well and they can now make their payments via the tablet platform.  It has been a while since I wrote about the tablets.

Blue Cross Venture Capital Investment in Phreesia Tablets Appears to be Paying Off

e-MDs is one of the longest standing ambulatory medical records system that was founded and is backed by doctors so with their system you don’t lose the MD focus as we are seeing on many medical records systems.  As the Phreesia website states, it doesn’t forget to ask for payments.

When seeing a new patient, data entry is much easier as the office may only have to confirm data instead of doing all of it.  In addition the tablets are also available by specialty which fits very well with e-MDs as they have their specialty versions of the medical records software.  It was just a few months ago that e-MDs launched their cloud based practice management and EHR systems and have been promoting it with a number of roadshows.  BD

e-MDs Launches Cloud-Based EHR/Practice Management System

AUSTIN, TX

October 15, 2013Phreesia, the nation’s leader in point-of-service healthcare solutions, today announced that it is partnering with e-MDs, a leading provider of electronic health records (EHRs) and practice management (PM) solutions, to provide medical practices with the highest level of integration possible to streamline the check-in process within their EHR solution.

This partnership provides an automated interfaceimage between the two systems allowing practices to increase cash flow and save staff time, improving the economics for the practice. The bi-directional interface electronically populates demographic, financial and clinical data collected by Phreesia at check-in into e-MDs Solution Series, eliminating the need for manual data entry from practice staff.

“Medical practices are looking for integrated solutions that can help them improve operations,” says Michelle Steil, LPN/Practice Manager at VIP Pediatric Associates, a Vanderbilt Integrated Provider. “Together, Phreesia and e-MDs give us the ability to maximize our time with our patients by eliminating the manual work involved in patient intake and managing finances.”
