In view of the recent stories about Medicare fraud, no wonder it was so easy for so many of the fraudulent claims to get through, if internally procedures were not followed.  The odds looked pretty good for a fraudulent claim to sail through without a match from a purchase order.  Good to hear why so much fraud made it through the system.  BD 

These incorrect payments were for things such as wheelchairs, hospital beds, etc.

The federal audit revealed that the reason that they paid out these incorrect payments, was due to the fact that they did not follow policy.

Policy states that they are supposed to match up the purchase orders from doctors, but did not do so.
