Actually this is an experimental program that will help educate people in the process of losing weight and nutrition. So if you are not having success in the real world, here's the chance to try some virtual weight loss and see what you might learn and how being overweight looks in 3D. BD
People who are obese in the real world will get the opportunity to participate in a research project conducted entirely in the virtual world to help their avatars - and hopefully their real-life selves - lose weight and get in better shape.
The Texas Obesity Research center at the University of Houston is launching an international effort to find 500 participants for a study promoting healthy dietary habits and physical activity that will be conducted entirely in the virtual world of Second Life. For more information, participants can instant message Sirina Felisimo or Samu Sirnah in Second Life or call the center at (713) 743-9310.
