Hospital Shooting in Tennessee – Parkwest Medical Center – Update

I just read where the the gunman was mentally ill and thought a monitoring device had been implanted during a surgery he had in 2001 to remove his appendix.

The hospital was placed on lock down until it was determined it was again safe.  This is scary as we continue to see these acts of violence at hospitals.  We don’t know how this is related but I’m sure there will be more to follow on this sad incident.  BD

KNOXVILLE — Three women were shot and one has died after a gunman opened fire at Parkwest Medical Center and then killed himself this afternoon, according to police.

Authorities have released few details in the shooting, which was reported just after 4:30 p.m. at the West Knoxville hospital.

The owner of a Knoxville-area cab company said one of his drivers drove the alleged shooter to Parkwest this afternoon.

Yaqub Darboe said the Red Star Taxi driver picked up the alleged shooter at University and Fifth avenues, but he wasn't sure of the time. He said he had no other details about the fare.
