Interventional specialist are becoming the one profession you want to get familiar with, like the interventional radiologist if you are having certain surgical procedures, these are the folks using technology with software to precisely guide the surgical instruments and implants with 3D screens and imaging processes for high levels of accuracy and fewer mistakes.
With mobility on the move, it somewhat makes you wonder with hospitals on tight budgets, will we some day even see the out patient facilities do the same, a van pulls up in front of your house maybe to do your surgery? They have them in Russia and look like this….oh no I don’t think that van would be my first choice.
Here’s an interview I conducted too long ago with an interventional radiologist from Yale University, Dr. Bart Muhs. BD

Framingham, Massachusetts -- Medical device company Interlace Medical has garnered $20.5 million for its third round of venture capital financing.
Interlace is focused on developing less invasive gynecology procedures that can be performed in an office setting rather than traditional surgical settings. From the website:
Organized in 2006, Interlace Medical, Inc. is focused on designing and developing devices for the Interventional Gynecologist to perform office-based procedures to treat diseases and conditions traditionally requiring surgery in the operating room. Until recently, office-based procedural growth has been hampered by the lack of technology and reimbursement. In recent years several office-based gynecology procedures have received favorable reimbursement rates (Sterilization and Endometrial Ablation). Nonetheless, a need persists for safer, less invasive gynecology procedures that can be performed in an office setting. Interlace intends to meet this need with cost effective, technologically advanced devices that improve patient care, reduce cost and improve physician efficiency.
