Burlington, MA-based Nuance Communications (NASDAQ: NUAN) said today it has purchased image scanning and indexing company eCopy of Nashua, NH, for $54 million in Nuance stock. ECopy’s software for touchscreen-driven multifunction printers (MFPs) helps companies scan business documents and easily incorporate them into accounting and records systems. “Nuance and eCopy share a vision of connecting MFP devices to a wide range of applications in an easy and productive way,” Robert Weideman, a general manager and senior vice president in Nuance’s Document Imaging Division, said in a statement.
