Internet giant Google has tapped a medical software developer in San Diego to provide a key element of its test project that lets people create comprehensive medical records on the Web. The software has been embedded in Google Health, an online system being tried out by patients and doctors affiliated with the Cleveland Clinic in Ohio. SafeMed's role in Google Health could provide a boost to the privately held company, which has fewer than 50 employees and moved into its new office in Mira Mesa at the beginning of the year.
