This is huge and will be an entire new community where the former Air Force Base exists, March LifeCare Campus. Today you can watch and listen to the ceremonies of the demolition that begins before the ground breaking. This will also help bring jobs to the inland empire outside of the Los Angeles/Orange County areas in Riverside County.
From the website:
“The March LifeCare Campus will be the most unique and beautiful health care campus in the world. It will be a place of leading-edge medical research and treatment -- a one-stop location where patients of all ages will be treated and healed. We’re proud of the campus we’re building and want to share it with you. March LifeCare Magazine is your portal to follow progress as the campus is built out and matures”
Also as a side note, the Gov uses Posterous and you can view the video here as well. BD
Gov. Schwarzenegger participated in a demolition ceremony to make way for the construction of March Memorial Hospital, part of the March LifeCare project.
March LifeCare is a 6 million square foot, 236-acre project being developed on surplus land of the former March Air Force Base. The project will include a hospital, medical office buildings, skilled nursing and ambulatory care facilities, wellness centers and other facilities. The project is expected to create 12,700 construction jobs and 7,200 full-time health care and other related jobs.
