Hartford Free Medical Clinic Saw Over 1000 Patients Today – Congress Still Oblivious to the Urgency of Reform

Back in January I had posted to get the word out to find volunteers. I try to cover all these free clinics. What is strange is that the Legislature of Connecticut voted in single payer healthcare and they had a governor who vetoed it.

In the video below there’s an interview with one of the physicians, Dr Bruce Gould, the Associate Dean at the University in Harford, who volunteered today. He says what I have said all along, we’ve lost the soul of caring in our world today. He flat out says the system is not working. Not to be overdone by the free clinic today, Aetna, in Hartford lays off another 100 employees. Don’t forget it is in the business plan of Aetna to dump 600,000 insured this year who do not meet their business model through an extensive analysis done with algorithmic formulas. Of course Joe Lieberman was nowhere in sight. Consumers have recently demonstrated at his office.

HARTFORD, Conn. - Hundreds of people without medical insurance are expected to take advantage of a free health care clinic being offered in Hartford.
Wednesday's one-day clinic at the Hartford Convention Center is being put on by the nonprofit National Association of Free Clinics.
Doctors, dentists, nurses and other health care professionals are volunteering the their time for the event which will run from noon until 7 p.m.
The organization says that similar one-day clinics in Houston, New Orleans and Little Rock, Ark., each drew over 1,000 people.
