I am guessing here in Texas just as it does in California, has the focus for getting pregnant women involved here is to ensure we have healthy babies, a good thing and in California with Medicaid, it’s the highest reimbursement item. I had one provider client to where this was all he did, take care of pregnant women and then once they delivered, they go off to another physician as he covered his portion of the care. He didn’t want to go into caring beyond this point as he told me he lost money.

SAN ANTONIO, Sep 09, 2010 (BUSINESS WIRE) -- Molina Healthcare of Texas announced today that it has begun arranging healthcare services for approximately 63,700 low-income children and pregnant women in 174 predominantly rural counties through Texas' Children's Health Insurance Program (CHIP) and CHIP Perinatal Program.
The contract is held by Molina Healthcare of Texas's newly formed, wholly owned subsidiary, Molina Healthcare of Texas Insurance Company, which has been approved to operate as an exclusive provider organization in the service area. Molina Healthcare of Texas will administer the contract on behalf of its subsidiary.
