This is some amazing technology and he explains how the military is also using his inventions.  From a healthcare point of view I’m thinking of nurses in the hospitals, perhaps needing to be perhaps focused on selected patients.  Some hospitals have gone to the extent of hanging a big sign on some of the nurses administering medications, in other words walking around with a big “Do Not Disturb” sign on placed over their shoulders.

Those were just some of my immediate thought on how this technology could be developed for hospitals, in other words filter out what the staff may not need to be aware of and get the sounds relative to patient care to the focused point to allow for undisturbed care for patients.  Some area are just downright noisy too, so perhaps one more area where it could have use would be to allow patients to get rest, as how many times have we all heard “I can’t sleep in that noisy hospital” and had to come home to get some rest, so from that side of the coin this could make the healing and resting portion of time spent as a patient a little more valuable, in other words focus the day to day noise of the hospital floor away from the patient’s bed.  Great video and might just get you thinking!  BD

Woody Norris shows off two of his inventions that treat sound in new ways, and talks about his untraditional approach to inventing and education.
