It appears having a “chip” implant is perhaps not as popular as one might have thought as least on the consumer medical records side. Stanley, the tools folks, have purchased one portion of the business , Xmark which makes RFID chips for a number of purposes from tracking people to medical equipment. The Veri-Med portion of the business is still looking for a buyer and there are only a few individuals with the implant that carries all their health information, but a special scanner is needed to read the chips as well.
