Caritas Christi Health Care, a six-hospital system in the greater-Boston area, has sold its physician-office laboratory business, Caritas imageMedical Laboratories, to Quest Diagnostics, Madison, N.J., for an undisclosed amount.
Included in the deal is an agreement to link Caritas' electronic health records to a shared information exchange that will allow physician practices located at five of the provider's hospitals to access patient test results processed by Quest Diagnostics, according to a news release.
Carney Hospital in Dorchester, Good Samaritan Medical Center in Brockton, Holy Family Hospital in Methuen, Norwood (Mass.) Hospital, and St. Elizabeth's Medical Center in Brockton will be linked to the new IT system, according to Caritas officials.
