If the name My Chart sounds familiar to you, it might be because there are a number of hospitals, big ones, using the system from Epic. Kaiser Permanente, Cleveland Clinic are a couple that come to mind and now the same will be offered to patients with Bon Secours. I am guessing if it has not be set up already that PHR connection with HeatlhVault and Google Health may follow.
With Epic medical records being installed at so many locations and more coming on board, it seems that their system might be well on it’s way to becoming part of a standard with records or at least a big chunk of it. BD
Bon Secours patients can now connect with physicians and view portions of their medical records online through MyChart.
The feature, which began rolling out in May, is part of Bon Secours Virginia Health System's new electronic medical records system.
Patients who sign up can schedule medical appointments, view their health summary, access test results and request prescription renewals.
MyChart is part of Bon Secours Virginia's new electronic medical records system, ConnectCare.
So far, 11 primary care practices — including Eagle Harbor Medical Associates in the Carrollton area of Isle of Wight County — and more than 30 patient care providers are linked through the new system.
Bon Secours Virginia Medical Group specialists are next in line to transition to electronic medical records, followed by its Hampton Roads hospitals in 2011.
