Ok I learned something today too, the Brazilian Blowout is a hair treatment and from what I am reading here, the haze that is created from the use is said to be causing imageheadaches, rashes, etc. but the results look good.   According to this article new safety steps have been implemented to include wearing gloves and masks while the product is being applied.  One person stated it’s like a fog that rolls through the salon.  It is very popular with clients and celebrities have the process done to their hair.  I guess until the FDA rules on the safety, the jury may be out for a while.  BD

From the website:

“The BRAZILIAN BLOWOUT is the most innovative and imageeffective professional smoothing treatment in the WORLD!
Through the use of a Brazilian Super Nutrient Complex and a proprietary polymer system, the Brazilian Blowout actually improves the condition of the hair by creating a protective protein layer around the hair shaft to eliminate frizz and smooth the cuticle.”

The latest salon trend — the Brazilian Blowout — has fans like Halle Berry and Lindsay Lohan.

But while celebrity magazines praise their smooth, frizz-free locks, the Food and Drug Administration is  looking into health complaints associated with the treatment.

Stylists and their clients have reported headaches, rashes, eye irritation and breathing problems that may be linked to formaldehyde, a carcinogen.
